What's included in the price of my conference registration? - A full conference registration includes access to all speakers, breakout sessions, the exhibit hall, and networking activities. You will also receive a conference program and name badge. Your registration does include select meal functions, please reference the agenda for included meals.

Is the conference training day included in my conference registration? - No, registration for the conference training day is separate from the registration for the two-day conference. You can register for training via the State of Wisconsin Training Management System. Questions about registration for the conference training day can be directed to Stacy Blakemore, Training and Exercise Operations Associate at stacy.blakemore@wisconsin.gov

Can I register for the conference on-site? - Yes, you may register onsite for the conference. However, if you know you will be attending, we would appreciate if you would register prior to the conference. This assists us with our planning and ensures that you will have a great experience at the conference. 

What should I wear? - In general, the dress code for the conference is business casual. The conference center and breakout rooms can sometimes be cold, so consider dressing in layers so that you are comfortable throughout the conference. 

What should I bring? - We recommend that you bring business cards for networking, if using any electronics remember your chargers, and if you wish you may bring a reusable water bottle and small snacks. Additionally, any outstanding balance for conference registration is due when you check in. Please be prepared with the appropriate form of payment; at this time we accept cash, checks, and Visa or MasterCard. 

How do I submit a proposal to speak at the conference? - WEM is seeking innovative and informative presentations relevant to all functions of Homeland Security. Suggested topics include but are not limited to:

  • New types of emergencies/disasters (i.e. COVID-19, Opioids) 
  • Communication and/or collaboration during a crisis (i.e. With media, local communities, other agencies)
  • Diversity/Equity in Emergency Management 
  • Mental health (i.e. during a prolonged crisis, multiple crises) 
  • Cyber Security

To submit a proposal please contact WEMPPP@wisconsin.gov or laura.reinke@wisconsin.gov. Submission are due by 5pm on October 4, 2020. Please direct all questions to Laura Reinke. 

How will you make the event safe to attend? - The safety and wellbeing of our attendees and staff is of utmost concern to us and remains a priority as we plan for this event. Our team will work closely with our venue partner to ensure that protocols are in place to adhere to federal, state and local health and safety guidelines. More details on these measures will be made available as we get closer to the event.
