SERVICE | INNOVATION | LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT 

The 2023 WEM Conference will again honor the tradition of presenting awards to three individuals who have made important contributions to emergency management. The Service Award, Innovation Award, and Lifetime Achievement Award are all open to volunteers and public/private partners working in the field of emergency management.

Award nominations are currently open, with a final submission deadline of 11:59pm on Friday, January 20, 2023.

Innovation Award

Presented to a person who directs their time and energy for the greatest impact by incorporating new ideas, technology, and other strategies to maximize a positive impact on the state, or in the community they serve. Recipients are cutting-edge idea people who are creative, innovative, fearless, progressive and act as change agents.

Service Award

Presented to a volunteer or public/private partner that has made an outstanding contribution to preparedness, response, recovery, or mitigation activities in the State of Wisconsin.

Lifetime Achievement Award

Presented to an individual that has made outstanding or substantial contributions to and accomplishments in the field of emergency management at the local, state, or national level over an entire career. Eligibility requires that an individual has worked in the field of emergency management for at least 10 years. Individuals remain eligible for up to two years after their date of retirement.
